When Logic X says 'Projects created in previous versions of Logic are not compatible with Logic Pro X' and you continue, it will convert the project and force you to save. So it appears it doesn't like to open a Logic 9 file after I have been working in a Logic Pro X file but will always open a logic Pro X file.Īre there any ways to be able to open a file regardless of what the last version of Logic Pro I was working in? Interestingly I did the reverse and worked on a Project in Logic Pro 9 this evening and then clicked on a Logic Pro X file and it opened perfectly in Logic Pro X. So then rather than clicking on the Logic 9 project again I opened Logic 9 from the application menu and it opened the last Logic 9 project I worked on and from there I am able to view 'recent' files and found that particular older Logic 9 file so I clicked on it and it opened fine in Logic 9. I think it is assuming I want to work in Logic Pro X because that is the last place I worked this morning.
'Projects created in previous versions of Logic are not compatible with Logic Pro X'
When I try to open a saved Logic 9 project this afternoon I get this window:
Keep in mind the last project I worked on this morning was a Logic Pro X file. Thanks Eric - I didn't want to report back until I had a chance to work with both Logic 9.1.8 and Logic Pro X (10.3) in my MacBook.
